I say - that looks great Kath. I couldn't visualise it but see now how it works. Cracking great water butt too....now all you need is a bit of very small "guttering" to catch and drain the rain .... Do you have any other shed in the garden to use for another barrel as you said you don't have any tap on site.

 Re: Our local community garden
Looks as if we may get a dry day today at community garden as the past 3 have been very wet so no play got done. In need of more rain ground very dry again Tomatoes that have been growing outdoors all summer were taken into greenhouse today. Today was at garden 10.30am until 4.45pm weather was fantastic.

 Re: Our local community garden
Amazing work i see you are doing. A big congrats to you all.
What a project to be involved with. Keeps you fit and toasty too as i see you have bad weather. - Wish i could send some sunshine over to you ladies.
I am going to print this off when i get the chance and try to get my head round doing something similar here. Brazilians are shocking with their complete disrespect for recycling anything whatsoever and the way they leave the taps/hoses on literally brings me to tears!! I am constantly lecturing but seems to just leave me exhausted!
Very well done, i will keep up with the project. Gosh, if only the world had a scottish state-of-mind. We would cherish the planet a little more.
Kisses and warmth from Brasil

 Re: Our local community garden
Your toms.are looking great Kath....well done. My standard Tomazing and Tomarvelous are just fruiting up now - I deliberately kept them back to lengthen the season as the Tumblers in the baskets have been giving me pounds a day!!! It'll be chutney season again soon at this rate. Your bottle-house is absolutely fantastic Kath - every allotment should be doing that..if I was younger and still had the grandchildren in every day - I would get them making one .....what a super idea!
