We usually have relatively mild winters here in south-west Wales. This year has been very cold though. I have put my fuchsias in a covered shelter at the side of my garage. It is mostly frost free and I hope it will help them start to re-grow now for the spring.





The shelter looks very ragged but it was only built last yr, and there is still a lot to do to it. like painting the walls, puting concrete or something on the floor etc.

That looks ideal Hywel......I have found that fuchsias do not like being mollycoddled and amazed me by surviving tucked away in odd corners outdoors even....mind you I am not so sure they will have made it through this winter..that will have sorted out the softies..and the beasties too ...hopefully

Some are tougher than others. Many so called tender varieties are able to survive outside in shelter.
